Massachusetts’
Republican Senator Scott Brown, “has long been best known in
Massachusetts as a former model who once posed naked in Cosmopolitan magazine, as well as the father of an "American Idol" contestant.”
“Brown has pledged to vote against the health care bill, and his election would give Senate Republicans the 41st vote they need to sustain a filibuster.”*
What is interesting to me about Brown is not only his questionable credentials for public service, but that he proposes to vote against the health care reform bill that, it can be argued, is not the plan of Barack Obama or the Democratic Party, it is largely the product of the Republican Party and the conservative Democrats! And the insurance company lobbyists!
Sen. Ted Kennedy replaced with Scott Brown? This would be such an insult to the extraordinary legacy of Kennedy, his commitment to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, to public service, to the people of the United States and our Constitution that it is beyond words.
I am reminded of that famous politician who said: “We have met the enemy and he is us.” – Pogo (1948-1975)
Democrats and Independents have a valid basis for frustration, for anger, for disappointment. We do need to hold the Obama administration and the Democratic Party accountable —largely, in my opinion, for tactics, in some cases, for specific policy decisions. But should we not hold the GOP and the conservative Democrats accountable?
Those Democrats who do not work to GOTV, who do not support Democratic candidates, who do not vote, who do not vote Democratic, who do not vote for real Democrats and the Obama agenda, who think the Republicans should be rewarded for the eight years under Bush and their consistent obstructionism during Obama’s first year, will have to live with the consequences.
The latter will not be pretty.

The Massachusetts election is not over, but it is a warning to all the Democrats who are angry and want to sit out the mid-terms: You may be angry with the wrong guys.
