My girlfriend and I take walks, run, hike, swim, surf and lead active, healthy lives. We are fit, young, educated. We cannot get health care.
She has a pre-existing condition and no one will cover her. Or, they will and won't cover her condition -- nothing too expensive either! I have to go to the ER when I need medication as I can't afford a clinic or a doctor visit. Instead of giving back to society, we are forced to its outer membrane, helping it burst rather than cohesively stay together. Must I work for a Fortune 500 company to deserve the best health care money can buy? I don't think so. Health is not for profit.
